Application Review and Receiving Periods
Current Receival Period - 15 August to 15 September 2008.
Current Review Period - 16 July to 14 August 2008.
Grading System
Accept - The application is perfect as is.
Accept, But... - Minor issues that need to be addressed are present. The applicant has one to two weeks to revise, depending on the fixes needed.
Reject-Revise - The application has a few fundamental problems that need to be addressed, but we want them back. No specific revision time.
Reject - Something is very wrong, either the application is missing a section, or the entire application runs against the general style of the game.
Application Process
- Once the application has been received, Shimmy or Ingrid will move it to a private forum ("Application Reviews") with a hyperlink to the application, and the applicant's information.
- Three reviews by GesMa members who are not Ingrid will eventually be posted. Unhelpful reviews will not be in the final post. (This is why the forum is private.)
- When the reviews are in, Ingrid will write up a summary of all the reviews. This is to prevent confusion in cases where there are contradictory reviews. She can give a final say on issues where reviewers disagree, or reconcile different ways of looking at an issue.
- The final version of the reviews will be posted in the "Reviewed Applications" board, with all authors kept anonymous.
Application Guidelines
- Please apply with an original character. We may be a fairy tale game, but we really don't want to have Princess Jasmine in our ranks.
- You may apply with the same character (with revisions) three times before we ask you go on hiatus for four months (or two receival/review periods). Sometimes sitting on a character for a while will help figure out the kinks.
- No smilies in applications, please. They interrupt flow of the prose.
- Proof-readers can really save an application. No one is perfect, but misuse of words and poor grammar can be easily corrected.
